Floral crowns, created by florists send support to Ukrainian creators (Photos)

Future florists and their teachers of Karalius Mindaugas Vocational Training Centre implements a wide range of creative projects. “The events in Ukraine worry each of us. Together with our students, we decided to create a flower crown, which is traditional headdress for Ukrainian women. This creative work we carried out together with future make-up artists. We wanted to get to know the Ukrainian culture and traditions better and to express our support to the creators in Ukraine” – says Kristina Baronienė, florist teacher of Karalius Mindaugas Vocational Training Centre.
The flower crown is used by many contemporary artists as a symbol of Ukrainian identity. “It is not and easy task to create traditional flower crown. Technical and composition skills are required. To create this crown at home – it is very complicated task. Florists make it in a professional way, the crown should be beautiful as well as comfortable” – tells professional florist, teacher Erika Pratapienė.
Future florists of Karalius Mindaugas Vocational Training Centre created three different flower crowns, which in traditionally were worn by young, unmarried women to show their purity. In the context of these days – flower crowns are the symbol of support for Ukraine.
